Clinician

Christiaan qualified with a B Tech in prosthetics and orthotics from Tswane University of Technology in 2008, after which he worked for Port Elizabeth provincial hospital for a year following his internship.  He then gained five years of rehabilitation experience whilst working closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists in a physical rehabilitation hospital. During this time he developed a special interest in mobility for patients with neurological conditions, including spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, neuromuscular disease and congenital conditions such as cerebral palsy. He engaged in training in the specific area, including specialised wheelchair seating for neurological conditions, spasticity management, pressure care management and environmental assessment and adaptation. Christiaan joined Chin and Partners in May 2014, allowing him to continue developing his special interest in neurological conditions. Christiaan is currently mainly based at the Dick Williamson Rehab Centre, where he works closely with neurotherapists and rehabilitation facilities in the area.

In his free time Christiaan enjoys street and nature photography which can be seen on his photo blog. He also enjoys long distance running for fitness as well as surfing.
